This and That in L.A.Posted: August 31, 2013
A few more of my fun and fab finds from L.A.
Here are a couple places I would like to share with you that don’t have the touristy vibe. No one wants to run around like a fool with a fanny pack, so check out some of my favorite finds and shop like a loCAL.
Lovin’ this small book shop called Caravan in downtown L.A. that has been family run for 60 years. They carry a fab selection of vintage and antique tomes. Peruse with pleasure for hours in this charming space. While there, I purchased a great book on California Back Roads published by Sunset in the early 1970’s that was autographed by the author. I love finding these special treats for my favorite people and giving them as gifts. I think it is always nice to inscribe them with a lovely little note for the new owner. Someone special received my latest find and I know he will treasure it for years. Stop on by for yourself and check out this great store at 550 South Grand Avenue.
Next walk down Grand Avenue and head to Bottega Louis at the 700 block of South Grand. Here you will find to die for food and even better desserts. Make sure you take home a box of macaroons. They are worth every calorie and penny.
I have said it before and I will say it again…while in L.A. go to Hotel Figueroa for a mojito by the pool patio. It is a fun and chill way to relax and have a drink with your friends. And speaking of friends, here we are rocking the evening at that very spot. Gracias, to my friend Tamara for all the fab pics as mine never look this good!
Finally, finish the night with friends for a hooray at the Standard Hotel located in downtown L.A. You can never have too many memories or too much fun together, so why not create them in a hip environment?
Keep your good times rolling people and keep rockin’ with me. Until next time. My love you all.
